Unboxing report on JY Doll JY-168 body style with ›Tiffany‹ head.

The JY-168 is a life-sized TPE love doll. According to the manufacturer specification, her body size is 168 cm (with head) respectively 150 cm (without head) and she weights ca. 32 kg. The skin tone of the present doll is "natural/normal". The Tiffany head has blue eyes and comes with a curly blonde wig.

1) Shipping & Packaging.

Nothing out of the ordinary here. The lead time to make the doll was less than a week, shipping took a total of about 2.5 weeks. Total waiting time from order confirmation to delivery was a little less than four weeks. That's an average waiting time, neither very short nor overly long. No delays because of the enhanced skeleton.

The doll comes in a regular cardboard box without special reinforcements, packing size 156×42×30 cm. Packaging is identical to what you are used from most other TPE manufacturers, neither better nor worse.

If you calculate a head length of about 19 cm, that leaves about 149 cm for the body and padding. According to specs, the body is 140 cm long without head. So that's tight, but possible.

2) Padding & Wrapping.

Like the packaging, there's nothing out of the ordinary with padding and wrapping. The inside walls of the box are padded, and the doll is in a plastic bag, wrapped in a soft blanket - pink with white dots, what else.

The first suprise occured when I opened the carton - there was no smell. Usually there is a distinct smell if you open the packaging of a TPE doll. But a doll was inside, indeed, not cobblestones.

3) Configuration.

This is what was ordered from JY:

* wig: #11 (curly long blonde hair)
* skin tone: natural/medium
* finger/toe nails: clear
* vagina style: built-in/fixed
* enhanced skeleton, standing variant

Those photos looked quite OK. Except for the lipstick, not much body makeup, and a nice light skin tone, matching to an overall Caucasian appearance.

When we took the doll out of the box, the next surprise occured. The skin tone was rather different from the confirmation photos. It was darker and had a yellowish touch. The skin tone reminds a bit of 'honey light' from Doll House 168. We'll take a closer look at that later.

The rest of the configuration seemed to match the order - eye color and wig was correct, finger and toe nails were still attached to the body, the vagina was fixed/built-in, and the feet had the standing skeleton screws in the soles of the feet most TPE dolls share.

Also, the head had a clear resemblance with the manufacturer's photos.

Just forget about the internal manufacturer head IDs. The Tiffany head (蒂法妮) is sometimes labeled as "JY no. 80" or "Aiersha no. 102". However, JY managed to ship the correct head. So far, so good.

4) Accessories and Scope of supply.

As most other Chinese TPE manufacturers, JY adds some "gifts" to the package.

Again, nothing out of the ordinary. Included were the usual accessories - a pair of cotton gloves, an USB heating device, a plastic enema and a plastic comb. Also, there is a simple outfit and, of course, a wig.

Not more, but also not less than usual.

Neither TPE glue nor stain remover was included in the box.

5) Manual / Documentation / Instructions.

The documentation is a weak spot with almost all Chinese doll makers. Either there are no instructions at all, or they are useless because they are badly translated of just outdated.

JY ships the doll with a manual. The manual is a 12 page flyer. That's quite nice. But 8 pages are in Chinese, leaving 4 pages in English. That's one page "About us", and one page for "Products intruduction" (listing of available dolls from JY). One of the remaining pages is "Maintain and Clean", and the last one "After-sale protection" and "Disclaimer".

The maintenance and cleaning instructions suggest to clean the doll every 20 days with mild shower foam and to powder her afther cleaning. As usual for TPE doll manufacturers, there are no remarks about a possible care with mineral oil products, so once again, If you try this, you are left alone.

Also the instructions include some usage warnings; not all are clearly understandable, e.g.:

Material is flammable items, please don't use of 84 disinfectant and alcohol strong excitant liquid disinfected and cleaned.

That's an exact quote. At least I - not a native speaker - can only guess what this is supposed to mean. It's probably a warning not to use alcohol or disinfectants in the doll.

What is completely missing is a clear documentation of the permitted range of movements. There are little images showing what you should not do, e.g. let her do the splits or raise her arms over her head. The only other illustration in the manual labels that the hand of the doll is called "hand", the ankle is an "ankle" and the shoulder is… well I think you can guess it. This zero information.

However, the idea to ship the doll with instructions is good and should be appreciated. But there is quite some room to make this idea something usefull. At least the translation should be reworked by someone speaking English better than Google Translate.

Also, there is a plastic card included, labeled with "ViP" and with an imprinted number. Again, everything else is in Chinese, so a customer not speaking Chinese won't know what this is and what to do with it.

Except for this "ViP" card, there is no trace of a serial number, a certificate of authenticity or a "birth certificate" for the doll. Strangely, some JY dolls obtained from inofficial sources do have such a certificate of "authenticity".
